N-Time Piano Instruction
The Possible Dream: You and the Piano

Player

There's no time like the present to take those first steps toward making your dream of playing the piano come true. It is possible, and the results are rewarding. You'll feel a sense of achievement making your own music. You'll gain confidence as you progress. And you'll meet new people with whom to share experiences as you learn.

Besides learning to play the piano, you'll learn music theory. You'll learn  keys, intervals, chords, and harmonic structure, essential to understanding the music itself. Sight-Reading and Ear Training skills will be developed from beginning stages and continued through the more advanced levels.

We teach theory and technique and the fundamentals of music.  Exploration and creativity are encouraged.     We stress reading of notes and individual note reading.    Students learn to play for fun, learn at own pace, and acquire fundamentals of music, and skills for further use, understanding, and enjoyment of music.

  • Harmony: A thorough approach to contemporary harmony: basic chords, jazz chords, harmonic progressions, reharmonizations, voicings, etc.
  • Improvisation: Jazz, Blues, Gospel. Christian, and you can create your own personal improvisational style.
  • Reading/Sight-reading: Learn to read and sight-read proficiently.
  • Keyboard Technique: Learn the basic motion patterns and their combinations for effective mastery of any and all music for the keyboard.
  • Ear Training: A must for the serious musician: develop your musical ear.

Private piano lessons are offered for all ages.   Each lesson is individually tailored to fit the student's level of experience (from beginner to advanced) and music preference.
